How to create a male character that makes you love him?

I'm currently writing a story, and my main character (a girl) will eventually fall in love with another character (a guy). How can I make him so he seems irresistable? Not in a corny or unreal way, but just like a charmer or something. Any advice? Thanks!!!How to create a male character that makes you love him?
Please, for the love of all that is good, do NOT give this world another 'Edward Cullen'

Not only is he both corny AND unreal, it's been done WAY too much and I hope I'm not the only one who's ready for some change.

Well, (and this is going to seem kinda backwards) but give him some flaws! Nobody's perfect, and it's even cute sometimes when a guy fumbles and messes up. Also, the kind of guy that knows he's irresistable and flaunts it, for readers like me, he'll just be annoying.

That's pretty much all the advice I can think up. Trust what you find irresistable in a guy and lend your character some of that. Give him a touch human warmth that'll hopefully make your readers fall in love with him along with your character :]How to create a male character that makes you love him?
Look up the character traits of the Byronic hero, you'll find it on ask.com or the like and you will get your answer. He's the George Clooney type, the lovable mysterious rouge, throughout history we see various authors depicting this Byronic hero, Jane Austen does it with her portrayal of Mr Darcey and Charlotte Bronte with her portrayal of Rochester, even in the Buffy the vampire series we see such a romantic hero in the character of Angel the vampire with a soul. Such a romantic Byronic hero is said to possess such traits as being:'; experienced, simultaneously brutal and seductive, fierce and powerful, a man who is devilish enough to overwhelm the body and yet enough a fallen angel to charm the soul';.
Don't you know everyone is in love with Cinderella. She has a bad life and the people around her are not very supportive, maybe even cruel. But this guy over her in the office is nice to her and he has girl friends but somehow they get together she saves him and he saves her in whatever you make up.

That is the gist of so many romance novels and we love reading them. In the end they get married and the whole office throws them a party and you know they live happy ever after.

Or the guy is a cowboy at a dude ranch, she goes for a much needed vacation and he finds it fun to help her to connect with nature.

Or I have a million ideas for a novel I should write books.
Well...personally I have always fell in love with storybook guys who are.....

Either the bad boy, outcast kind of guy. The guy who never exactly fit in and tries to show off a tough guy image when really in the inside he is really sweet. And usually along with that they tend to act cocky sometimes, but always playfully.Yah know...like at first he wants nothing to do with this girl, but yet inside yearns her to be his. Oh Goddess before I get ahead of myself let's just say I am describing my favorite story book guy. Lol. :)

or:

The guy who like doesn't play fair, and plays dirty to get the girl. I know this is a terrible example, but like Jacob in Eclipse. Also he was kinda of the underdog because he didn't get the girl. But he also cared very deeply for the girl so it was all fair in love and war. Well hope I helped. :)
Make him, your dream boy.

It'll connect you to your story on more of a personal level.

Make him..

The jerk you hate to love.

The artsy romantic, that woos you with his words.

The nerd, who's laugh makes you melt.

etc..

:)

good luck!
Good idea: Make him unfathomably pale. Give him really gay hair. Make him manic-depressive. Make sure everything he says is a cliche. And to top it off, give him a thirst for human blood, making him a vampire. Isn't that what the girls are into these days?
Maybe you could write about thoughtful and courteous things he does for her, and her thoughts on how great that makes her feel inside.
bad boy!!! who doesn't love a bad boy with a cheeky grin, and a hidden softer side. mmmhhmmm
Okay, get this. He saves a child from drowning.
